I told Lorraine the other day: "I'm always thinking of you. Granted, sometimes the thought is: "Why aren't you doing more for me?"; but still...
We're back in Daytona again, staying with our niece, Denise. Today found us at an outdoor farmer's market in Deland, where we got an enormous flat of perfectly ripe strawberries and various other tasty fruits and vegetables. By the end of the day, they were practically giving the produce away. A bunch of 6 bananas was $1. Tonight was strawberry shortcake, and tomorrow morning everyone is required to have berries on their cereal.
You may have noticed that Logan (our dog), pictured with Lorraine in the previous entry, has not been mentioned in this round of blogging. He is 14 now, and unfortunately not well enough to travel with us anymore. Paul is taking care of him back in our NJ home while we are out galavanting. I thought about re-naming the blog "Travels With Codger", but Lorraine wouldn't hear of it - not because of any disagreement with the sentiment - but simply out of loyalty to Logan for past services rendered. We do miss having him along for the ride. He was a good traveling companion, and often the most pleasant personality in the vehicle. I'm attempting to play that role now, but he has left me with some big paws to fill.
